Meredith Walraven Pride of Plano Scholarship

Presented by the Planoette Bootbackers Booster Club

Meredith Shaver Walraven has proudly served 17 years as Head Director for the Plano Senior High School Planoettes. This scholarship honors her dedicated service to her school and team.

Mrs. Walraven grew up in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and attended Rockwall ISD schools K-12.  After graduating from Rockwall High School, where she was a member of the Stingerettes Drill Team and elected Captain for her senior year, she went on to attend Stephen F. Austin State University (Axe ‘Em Jacks!). During her time in Nacogdoches, she was a proud line member of the SFA Dance Team while also earning a Bachelor of Science degree in both Dance as well as in Speech Communications. She has served 20 years as a teacher in Rockwall ISD and Plano ISD respectively.

Mrs. Walraven is married to her college sweetheart Keith, and they have two beautiful and active children, Emery, who is a talented dancer just like her mother, and Rex, who loves tearing it up on the baseball diamond and basketball court. When they aren’t busy at their many weekend sports and activities, the Walravens enjoy their time at the lake and with their beloved family and friends.

Dance is one of Mrs. Walraven’s true loves and she has enjoyed watching her students grow throughout the years and use dance as a creative outlet. She has touched many lives in the dance community and has left an indelible mark on the Planoettes organization. Her unwavering commitment to her students and her devoted efforts to teach, lead, and serve are her legacy, honored by this scholarship in her name. Her heart and spirit will long live on with the Planoettes and the Wildcats at Plano Senior High School.
